In a world where ingredient lists read like chemical formulas, we decided to do things differently. méiyǒu was founded on a simple premise: food should be food.

When we started this journey, we weren't trying to build a business. We were just tired of not being able to pronounce half the ingredients in our kitchen. We wanted to know exactly what we were eating, where it came from, and how it was made.

The problem with modern food

Walk into any supermarket and you'll find products marketed as "natural" that contain dozens of artificial additives. The word "natural" has been stretched so thin it's practically meaningless.

We're not here to lecture anyone about their food choices. But we do believe that if you want to eat simply, you should be able to. That's why every ingredient in our products is something your grandmother would recognise.

Our approach

We work directly with small farms across the UK. We visit them, meet the people growing our ingredients, and see exactly how they work. This isn't just about quality control — it's about building relationships with the people who share our values.

Good food starts with good ingredients. Everything else follows.

We keep our processes minimal. Where possible, we let the ingredients speak for themselves. No artificial preservatives, no flavour enhancers, no hidden nasties.

Why it matters

Eating natural isn't about being perfect. It's about making conscious choices when you can. It's about knowing that the food you're eating is honest.

We believe that when you know what's in your food, you enjoy it more. There's a simplicity to it that feels right.
